88 gl sedan fwd exhaust mod?

Featured Replies

i am looking to cut out the y-pipe cat and go a two into one then back to high flow cat then a magnaflow muffler. any ideas or current mods you have on a car like mine would be a great help. i know what i am going to do from the y-pipe back just wondering if anyone has cut there y pipe out and put something other than another cat. thank you Ken. btw i am the wrong part of the country for this damn car lol.:banghead:

chop the exhaust off at the cat and see how you like the sound...---second cat,not the one at the y.

just build the exhaust after the flange at the end of the y pipe.

the stock y is very good if you open up the rest of the exhaust, i say this compared to many exhaust applications i have played with

if anything you can hollow out the y

if you do some inventing, mind the design of the y pipe as a model

Mine is a 79, but I got this exhaust done for $200. It is a cut Y pipe. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it sounds like a Harley now. We don't have emissions checks in Ky. anymore now either.

It stays dual though.

nice exhaust. me likes it very much! i like especially the placement of the "cherry bombs"

do you have a clip of that exhaust on google video? if so, that car does sound amazing!

i would suggest you get your exhaust done like that, sounds great.

man that is sweet i wish i could hear it. that is close but leaning more towards a single exhaust exit from the back or the car more like the wrx. but still not sure exactally what yet i am going to my car up on jack stands and get pics from front to back and then try to design my own. but what you have from the y cut out is just what i am looking for would like to see more. and would love to hear that. thank you for your time. Kinda looks like the system I had on the Black BRAT, don't it Fox?? I used Xcelerator Turbo mufflers on mine instead of Bombs.
