April 21, 200619 yr I am in the middle of an auto to manua swapl on my 90 Loyale. I am stuck on the brake pedal assembly that was originally on my 90 loyale. I can not get the bolt that holds the pedal off, I can turn it but it doesnt go anywhere, something is holding it on that I can not see. I need to replace it with the one for the manual which is longer to hold the clutch pedal. This thing is giving me hell, what do I do? Thank you all
April 21, 200619 yr Ok did you remove the steering column? Its much easier to replace the whole assmebly for the pedals, not just one pedal. SO go ahead and take out the steering column if you haven't already and it should be 6 nuts and it'll come off, if you have the throttle cable and the brake rod disconnected.
April 21, 200619 yr Hit it with some PB Blaster (or comparable product) and go have a half dozen beers. Try again tomorrow. Frustration will get the better part of you everytime and cause you to do irrational things that may end up a catastrophe.
April 21, 200619 yr Author Shewt, I quess I will do that. I thought I could sneak around having to do that. Seems like a lot a lot more work than just changing the screw, but no other leads so f it. April 22, 200619 yr There should be a c-clip on one end of the rod. It might be easier for you to pull the whole assembly out (once the steering column is removed).
