How much modding had to happen to get the Liberty seats in, and is there still enough head room?

They were in it when I bought her, I am 5'10" and I have 2" clearance to the roof.

They need an adapter rail to be fabricated to make it all line up.

No biggie from what I can see.

got enough switches down near the gearstick? :)

  • Author

No- thats my cactus.

I love switches.

Paired lights x 2 forward

Rear work lights

Thermos

Kill switch (in combo with another sneaky one)

Clutch for Blower.

hey matt, is your reg' an electric one?

my'n is, so im getting a adjustable vacuum switch so it will turn off under decel....should save some fuel going down all the hills here

  • Author

No LP, it is not electric as far as I know,- good idea though.

well,first of all

damnn....

second of all

damnnnnnn....

and finally, your steering wheel is on the wrong side, that supercharger will never work right, and you can send it to me when you figure that out. cheers, brian

Hey matty, how easy was that dashboard swap? i have the standard one in my brumby currently, but i have two of the sporty ones with the built in tacho, was it mainly a matter of plug and play?

  • Author

There are a few years with differences, mine was a plug and play swap.

Came from a coupe, the touring wagoon ones work as well.

You have to be a little lucky with year combinations.

Also a oil pressure sender is required, and a unit to give intermittant on your wipers.

Go for it.

Ok, sounds good so far, i have a 1983 Brumby and the dashboards are out of 1983 coupes.. so there is a good chance it'll work well.

I guess thats my next project on the brumby :D

Those wheels look phat man (lol, I used the word 'phat')

I am planning a little for my EA81, might be similar setup as yours ;)

Lol, I got my ute with a dash like that in it. The guy who put it in said it was a pain in the .... and he would never think about doing it again. But I like having a tach, and for some reason my speedo reads almost correct with the 215/60R15's on it... ?

Lol, you even kept the jack under the hood, how Subaru

I guess you have the AWD low range box? Use the low much at all with those wheels?

  • Author

I can pull away from the lights in 3rd gear,

Have not touched low range in 4 months.

A local wizard by the name of Will did my dash swap- in a morning.

I know, its perfectly coincidental but fate has dealt us a cool hand.

My speedo is 98% accurate (checked by radar gun and GPS).

Close enough for me.

does your reg have a small hose going to it that comes from manifold vaccuum i.e under the throttle body?

cos if it doesn't and only has a wire from the gas safety relay its electronic, nearly all the lovato regulators i've seen are electronic

  • Author

No vacuum hose on mine LP, there is the safety relay and wire though.

That must make it electronic then!
