Today when I started my car I could hear what sounded like chains on car tire rattleing around, what could this be. It was up front, by the belts and power steering pully.

did you check the main crank pulley?? that darn bolt has a bad habit of coming loose.

Use a 2' bit of heater core hose up to your ear to pinpoint the location of the noise. Could be the water pump, belt tensioners, alternator, etc. Find it quick before it fails.
