May 4, 200619 yr I just installed a rebuilt an engine for the Brat, darn thing runs fine. Only problem is the coolant goes into the crankcase almost as fast as I can pour it into the radiator. Any guess as to what went wrong? Thanks for your thoughts.
May 4, 200619 yr Freeze plugs poped out of the heads. Were they even in place when you installed the heads? Should be able to put new ones in without much trouble. GD
May 4, 200619 yr But he says it runs into the pan - and the engine runs good.... coolant can't get to the pan from the manifold, and it would run terribly if the HG's were so loose it ran into the pan as fast as he can pour it. Probably wouldn't run at all. GD
May 4, 200619 yr Author Thanks for your help. I took the valve covers off, fiiled the radiator with water. The only place I had any water come out was through the crankcase drain plug. So I assume the problem must be in the head gasket. When the engine runs the water pump must have enough pressure to push the water into the oil pan. Just my guess, will know more later. Thanks again.
