Legacy Model Types?

Featured Replies

Hi all, from NZ :)

Is there any list anywhere of the different model types of Legacy? I'm thinking of the 90's era ones mostly but anything would be welcome. Being in NZ this means jap imports.. I'm not sure the US models are the same or not?

For example I have a '92 Legacy Brighton and a '96 Legacy TS-R but Ive also seen other models, like the GT, Ti etc.

Trying to work out what exactly are the differences between my model and others of the same period. Guess GT is turbo.. TS-R.. dunno, it has factory momo steering wheel w/airbag so maybe thats all..?

Hope this question makes sense!

Thanks

Oh, and I dont suppose theres a downloadable copy of a '92 owners manual anywhere..? (being unable to read japanese and all...)

I know they're completely different than the US model designations.

For Gen 1 we had-

Base (no name)

L

LS

LSi

Sport Wagon

Sport Sedan

GT

SunSport

Outdoor

Alpine Sport

Not all those models ran the full span from 90-94.

Gen 2, there was:

L

LS

LSi

GT

Outback

In the US, only the Sport Wagon and Sedan were turbo. The gen1 GT had optional turbo, and the gen2 GT had a nonturbo 2.5.

you left off the brighton... basic car, no power options.

here in iceland we also had a legacy called "artic edition" witch had:

a one inch lift,

raised roofline,

EJ20,

headlight washers,

roof racks,

and heated seats.

Thanks,

Thats what I thought, but the brighton I have does have all power options, windows, mirrors, remote central locking.. (the heated mirrors are great! love that feature)

guess its diff from the US ones.

Cheers
