Where to find Body Parts??

Featured Replies

I had a white 97 Legacy GT. I just got a new car (saabaru) and sold my legacy to my brother. It was in my parents driveway and a tree fell on it. My brother had not yet registered and insured it so I don't think he can get any $$ for it. The tree hit the hood, damaged both fenders, and broke the windshield. It also could use a new bumper and grill. Where is the best place to get these kind of parts. Is it worth it or should I just junk it? The engine was running strong and the body was in great shape.

Check your parents homeowners insurance, that 'should' cover the damage. Also, no rate raise in most cases.

If the tree that fell was on your parents' property, their homeowners might cover it. If it was a neighbor's tree, you can make a claim against their homeowners.

As for parts, a wrecking yard is a good place to start. That's the best place to get original Subaru parts for cheap. You might also look around for a cheap donor car, especially one that has mechanical problems.

or post a wanted ad on here. i got a fender from a xrturbo a few weeks ago, looks great, and cheaper than a wrecking yard. he has plenty of legacys to part out, so shoot him a pm...

I have put a post in the wanted section. I am a little afraid the tree might have hit the engine hard enough to damage engine mounts and stuff. I will find out.
