Cigarette burn repairs?

Featured Replies

I am looking into purchasing a 2000 subaru Forester. The previous owner was quite the ... slob. The car stinks of smoke, and there are several burns in the seats and on the floor.

I contacted a detailer, and they can clean the interior, and remove the stench using an Ionizer for $60.

Any thoughts on what it would cost, ballpark, to repair 2 seats with 4 or 5 burns each, and the floor carpeting, with about 8 burns?

What does it cost to replace the seats?

In the end, I may just get some seat covers and floor mats, but wanted to get some feedback from others.

Check ebay for Leather Kits, replace all the covers for about $300 and your time.

Carpet is around 200 or find one used and clean it.

Are there good web sites for finding used carpets/seats etc. (parts in general) that folks recomend?

You can save some money by getting rid of the smell with Maguires Odour Eliminator, a hand pump spay in a transparent yellow bottle. Two applications in a used car I bought completely rid the car of all of the smoke odours. Get it where you can buy other Maquires products.

semi topic change....any idea how to fix the burns on apolstry?

also....so, i'm got a glob of dried rubber cement on my back seat...any ideas?

edit: nevermind...this is rude. i'll start my own thread.
