dj3stripes
on my way home fromwork my ABS light came on. i assumed it was due to my pads starting to squeak, but when i pulled into my lot i noticed a whiring noise coming from the hood. i popped it and the ABS thing (had 4 tubes/hoses come out of this box) was making this strange noise....... i went inside to eat and came back out half an hour later to find it was still making the noise. i knew this would eventually drain my battery as it sounds electrical. so i gave it a flick with my index finger and it stopped. i started the car, pumped the brakes and the ABS light did not come on. i tried searching for 'legacy ABS' but i think the search function is down. any idea what is going on? nipper
there are relays that operate the abs, sounds like one may have gotten stuck. The relays are located (i think) on the abs housing under a cover. Somone will chime in if im wrong. nipper
Setright
Sounds right, nipper. The Bosch system is like that. Later Hitachi systems aren't all in components and can require replacement of the entire unit
