June 27, 200619 yr I want to rest my foot on the gas pedal without accelerating! is that too much to ask? The weight of my foot shouldn't push down on the fly-by-wire pedal. A year ago I was told I'd have to live with it. Any fixes? Any suggestions? Anyone else? Juan.
June 27, 200619 yr if you truly have fly by wire, there is no fix. Its a common complaint. Now if you have ac able that runs to the tps under the hood then you can change the spring nipper

They just need to be stiffer/stronger. Anybody? Anyone? Juan
June 29, 200619 yr They are called torsion springs http://www.mcmaster.com/ . You will have to take the pedal apart to replace them and may void your warrenty. Now there used to be aspeed alert in jcwhitney which was a spring that went behind the pedal you may try that too. To order the springs you need to measure the springs. Good luck, but personally i think you should just get used to it. nipper
June 29, 200619 yr Have a piercing parlor put a ring through the skin in front of your shin, just below the knee. Then put a ring through the toe of your right shoe, attach a small adjustable bungee cord between the rings and adjust to hold your foot back while at rest. You should still be able to press the go pedal when desired - but when relaxed, the bungee cord will retract your foot. DO EET! ;^) Carl
