99 Leg GT wagon brake shudder

Featured Replies

I am having periodic brake shudder at highway speed. I have looked at the calipers and found that the slide pin on one of the caliper brackets is seized. I would like to find another set of brackets for the front calipers to fix this. What brackets will fit? Year? Model?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Iam not sure what years will fit, but you should be able to clean and grease lighty, and put a new rubber boot on the bottom pin not the boot you can see but the one that is at the other end of the pin, and it should be fine. I have never replaced my brackets and it has been on a mail route for ten years and well over 300,000 miles. About two to three front brake jobs each year. You can get the rubber tips for the pins in the caliper kits.

I understand what you say, however the seized pin cant be removed. That is why I think I need a replacements. Do you have suggestions to remove the seized pin?

I have been able to remove them by locking vice grips on them and tapping them out with a hammer. They can seize in there very tight.
