Using the storage space below the radio for a 2nd unit - 99 OBW

Featured Replies

Is there a way to install a 2nd single DIN radio unit in the space below the existing radio?

Anyone have a kit, or mounting info?

It should be fairly simple. 2 little L brackets will definately make it work, but might not be needed. Why are you doing this??

I've thought about putting a CB / Ham there, but why would you want 2 stereos?

It's not actually a stereo. It's a in dash VGA touch screen that I want to mount.

Here's a link to one on ebay:

I'm going to mount a port replicator for my laptop in the car, have not decided where yet. Then, I will have a touch screen available to interface to the laptop.

this will allow me to use the screen as a GPS tracker, as well as stop next to any Starbucks to check my email. Can also be used as a DVD monitor.

ive done it, it a 97 and a 98, it just screws right in. The factory cd player is a din and mounts below the radio. Anything thats a din will just bolt in.

Thats screen looks cool, should be a easy hookup, i think i want to do the same with my legacy!

I had a graphic equalizer in the second slot back when I was into car audio. It fit perfectly. It was a full size DIN unit.
