I wondering what body pannels (off other subarus such as wagons justy ect) will fit in replacement of my front fenders and hood on my 1986 brat? I appreciate the help. Thanks!

I am pretty sure on this, but not 100%

 

79 to 84 Wagons

80 to 89 Hatches

81 to 87 Brats

81 to 84 Coupes (not sure if you got those over there)

79 to 8? Sedans

 

Justy's are completely different, so are the 85 and onwards Wagons, Sedans and Coupes

heres the list.

 

ANY 1980-1984 Wagon

ANY 1980-1984 coupe

ANY 1982-1987 Brat

ANY 1980-1988 Hatchback (not fastback)

ANY 1980-1984 Sedan

 

anything else will not fit. doors are interchangeable between brats, coupes, and hatchbacks.

But glass isn't the same... I think the hatches and coupes are the same, but the Brats are slightly different. Still might fit but not as good.

 

Thanks for correcting me. I'll have to remember all that. Although I thought the MY was started with the 79 wagons... must be wrong there. Maybe that's a preduction build date, not a compliance date?

yeah, the windows are very different, forgot about that.

It's more complex than that.

 

(none of what follow applies to NZ or AUS - they got stuff at different times, and were discontinued at different times).

 

86 Brat will have the hole for the antenna on the passenger side. This did not occur till the 83 model year. Also the front of the fenders on 80/81 models is different where the corner markers mount - such that they will not fit the quad headlight front end of the 86.

 

So your list of donor vehicles for fenders (in the US) are:

 

83-84 Anything

85-89 Hatchback

85-87 Brat

 

That's for direct fit - if you want to do body work, 82 fenders will work, but the radio hole is on the wrong side.

 

As has been stated, doors are Coupe/Hatchback/Brat doors, with different glass.
