I went in to get gas tonight and a young lady in an outback was brokedown by the pump in front of me... I would have helped her if I could but she seemed scared when I went up to her.

 

Just wondering one thing... I carry spare belts for my 87 Gl... would these have been any help with a maybe 2001 outback coupe?

I don't know about the belts, but dude you sound lucky you didn't get pepper sprayed! lol j/k. It's always nice to offer a helping hand. My older brother's nickname is 'Manson' because he looks like Charles Manson so he doesn't often offer to help out young ladies in distress.

no the belts wouldnt help. Your car has a V style belt, where the 2nd gen (maybe the first too not sure) have a flat belt.

All the EJ's have flat style belts with 4 grooves.
