Replaacing the Duty C

Featured Replies

I think that is designed backwards.

Electrical power on: disengaged, no risk of damage.

Electrical power off: 100% engaged, potential risk of damage if front & back don't spin at the same rate.

Seems that if those two conditions were reversed, we'd have a more "fail-safe" design.

Just sayin'.

Or maybe I'm totally wrong! If so tell me.

I'd prefer that as well

no no not you, actually somone else who tried several things and variations.

Might've been me. I tried a few things, and different resistor values, until I was able to engage the override without throwing a failure light.

i paid 950 including a transmission mount, so yes thats a good prive. Dont be surprised if they tell you you need a tranny mount. Its not uncommon for them to fall apart when the tranny is serviced like this.

Anytime I forced 4x4 mode, I threw a light. Until I put in a dummy resistor load, making the TCM "think" that it was still connected to the solenoid.
