Idle Speed

Featured Replies

Anyone know the idle speed for a NA 2006 Forester AT? If I'm reading the tach right, mine idles at 750 rpm. I thought the spec was 500 rpm, has it been changed? Thanks.

er um is that 750 in park or drive? 500 rpm sounds awfully low to be ideling in park.

Maybe the idle speed spec is posted on some sticker on the bottom side of the hood? Often that's a place to look. 500rpm park idle is terribly low; only car I saw idle that low was some old car like a Packard or something with a 10 or 12 cyl or whatever.
