It just started working?

Featured Replies

I have been driving my 90 Toyota pickup this summer since the air in it works and my GL's doesn't. I started it up the other day just because I don't want to let it sit without running for long periods of time. When I did I bumped the front dome light switch and it came on. That isn't so unusual except it has never worked in the past. Ever. When I first got the car half of the dash lights didn't work and then one day they all did and still do. I am kind of scared that this mysterious all of the sudden things work thing isn't a gift from God for my good behavior. I am a little scared that it could mean something bad is going on in the electrical system.

anyone ever experience anything like this with an EA82 car?

maybe it just wasnt getting a good ground, and the bump knocked it into place. my experience has shown me that electronic things are masochists. the problem is usually nothin a slap or 2 cant fix.

Do you keep a fire extinguisher in the car?:D

Its probably just a grounding problem. The dome lights are always having the contacts crud up and it just takes a good twist or wiggle of the bulb to make it work. Sometimes the contacts can be cleaned up with a emery board.

:headbang: yeah mine did that i meen like didnt work but when i went to move it i jumped the clutch and they all came on lol

the sitting car killed its own static. check for a rusty coil..?
