looking for a second car

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a second car. I saw 2 adds one is a94 wagon loyal low mileage 1.8 engine and manual shift. what do you think of 1.8 engine? and 2500$ is it to much?

Or should I go with 94/95 model 2.2 engine? and how much should I expect to pay for?

The latter one could be an auto.

Thanks in advance for all your toughts

both are bullit proof. Go with which ever one has Multi Point Fuel Injection (the 94/95).

I got my 95 legacy L with a 2.2 motor for about 2 grand but it needed about 1 grand worth of work to make it perfect. If I did it again knowing what I know now, I'd spend 2500 for a 94-96 2.2 L legacy in great shape with as low milage as possible. Don't let high milage scare you though. AS long as regular maintence has been kept up and parts have been replaced, either car will be very long lasting for you. In myopinion the legacys do not rust nearly as much as the loyales do. I almost bought a 91 loyale but I have heard horror stories about the rust problems that can occur so I spend the extra cash and got the legacy. Good luck!

I'd go with a 95+ with the 2.2 SOHC. They are bullet proof motors and you get the "newer" body design. The newer the car, the more saftey built in.
