Blinkers no blinkie

Featured Replies

So I got tagged by a hit and run and my front bumper got bashed. The blinker on the driver's side still worked but in that spastic style that happens when the bulb is broken. Now all the blinkers are out. I was thinking it might be a fuse that has gone out. Anyone have any wisdom before I set off into the land of ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS?

I guess I'd start buy removing the bumper to look at the wiring to the L & R lights in the bumper.

If wires are damaged, fix, then go after fuses, blinker

Fluid?

 hey,i was gonna say that...

i'd go with what dave said, check wiring first.i had a bad wire on the front pass side corner light.i thought it was bulb related so i tried a new one an still no work.(though it'd come on if i hit a bump or that corner of hood)

found the cut wire and a few mins later it worked perfect.

so yah,i'd make sure no wires are damaged 1st

My bro hit a roo in his ford once (no, not a subaru, a kangaroo.) it damaged the spot light wiring and coursed the fuse the blow as soon as the lights went on.

So yeah, check wiring, then fuses. But I think you already knew what to do, so thats why my first comment was like it was.. ;)

My guess is the bulb. I would swap out a couple before eliminating that possibility.

In some circuits, a non-working bulb will do all kinds of goofy things that will lead you in the wrong direction when troubleshooting. Remember, a light bulb functions a lot like a fuse. A cut wire may also break the circuit, causing the symptoms you describe.

good luck, John

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have a go at it over the weekend and check back to let you know what I found.
