My 93 leg with a 2.2l runs great, but for some reason when i take off it like delays, only sometimes, my dad told me i need new spark plug wires(because i powerwashed the engine and now it sparkles, and my dad thinks it damaged the silicone on the wire, and its shorting out) . What u think?

Do you have an intake on the car?

There has been issues with bogging with aftermarket intakes. Other cause can be a bad knock sensor. The older knock sensor was prone to short out, and cause issues.

If you reset the ECU, and the car drives good for a little while, it's probably the knock sensor.

Seriously, the wires cured similiar stumbling for me. For what it's worth.

I will try the ecu, so just unplug the battery? ANd i will definitly pick up some new wires. And the ECU isnt throwing any codes, so it should be fine right?

Oh, and there is no intake.

Well you could look at the plug wires and coil in the dark, engine running of course, whilst spritzing water on them to see if there's any sparks then you'd know what has to be replaced if they are 'shorting'. I have a '96 Legacy that would cough and sputter a bit when floored from a standstill and it was the knock sensor causing it, but it never gave a CEL/MIL indication either.

It solved it for me too. Use OE wires.

OK, new update. Its fixed, i just found water sitting where the spark plugs are, blew out the water, and sprayed some contact cleaner on the spark plug wires, and the spark plug. Now when i floor it all 4 wheels turn hehe. Much better perferformance thats for sure, and now when it idles, it doesnt shiver at all, and its idling at 300-400rpms. THen i came home and i heard knocking noise, I FREAKED!! i thought a rod had broken or something. but when u accerllarate the noise was gone, so i sprayed some wd 40 around the belt area, and i think the idler was causing the noise, but my dad sprayed contact cleaner on the belts( dont as me why) and that must have created a noise as it cleans the lubricante and grease off. But boy was that a scare.
