I emailed a local Subaru dealer to see if they have a set of that exterior molding/trim that surrounds the wood sticker on my 78 woody wagon. Just curious, do dealers carry any of this old stuff? what experience has anyone here had with finding NOS stuff at dealers?

Good luck!!!! Sorry,I can't say much more.I've made lots of calls for my '78.The east coast is a lost cause except for some holdout stock here and there.When you find any please pass along any info for the few 70's owners and we'll do the same.

 

Might want to get the woody look from a department store.Cabinet liner material and such.Make sure its not a paper finish on the outside.

If any dealership has stuff that old, they should be shot . Seriously though, you'd be suprised how much stuff is actually in the warehouses- the door mouldings for my BRAT are still available !

heh, well the dealer here can look up the part, find out where its at, and how many are in the country...

 

 

a long time ago i checked on a cybrid PS pump for my xt6, they tell me they are $700 and there are only 10 left in the country..

 

next time i ask for tranny mounts for my hatch.. they say they are $55 and only 1100 in the country..

 

 

if you want thier phone # i can get it for ya.. they seem to be able to find just about anything heh.. they'll even tell ya what city the parts are in...

The wood side covering can be obtained at a "sign shop" Like Fast Signs or the like. Anyone who does vehicle lettering and sign making.

Be sure and get the"highquality", exterior grade, vinyl material. It will most like likely be far superior to even the original stuff too!
