November 10, 200322 yr Look behind your place for the radio, down by the floor.. There is a air powered Servo in there that pushes an Arm to the selector for Defrost, Heat and Vent. It should move when you move the selector
November 14, 200322 yr Author Where does line #1 come from and go to? Where do the 1,2,3 lines connect to the main line? this is push button btw
November 14, 200322 yr Submech, the dash ventilation system is controlled via vacuum servos. These are selected with the control push buttons Under the hood behind the pass side strut tower is a white plastic cannister. This is the vacuum reservoir. It has a check valve incorporated into it. Find out if it is indeed is storing vacuum (broken/disconneted line to it?) Then follow the line from it to the dash control panel. Sounds like somewhere you are loosing the vacuum to control the system. If you have already ascertained there is vacuum present at the control panel please post this fact. Hope this helps.
November 14, 200322 yr Author I have vac. to the supply line that runs through the firewall, canister and servos work, but no lines at 1 on connector block, air flow does not cchange
November 14, 200322 yr Assuming you have an American not Canadian model as per the FSM connection 1 goes to the servo labled as "B" sits at app. a 45 degree angle on the side of the hivac unit (windscreen heat) connection 2 goes to the servo marked as "A" sits horizontal on the side of the unit (dash/floor vents) connection 3 goes to the servo marked as "D" and is on top of the unit. (fresh air /recir) hope this helps You say "servos work" I will assume you applied vacuum via a Mighty Vac or similar to establish this fact.
November 15, 200322 yr Author Where does the main supply line connect to the other lines? Does the main line connect to the carb or the intake? American ea82 gl sw:cornfuzz: :cornfuzz:
November 15, 200322 yr I do not know where you are getting your line numbers from? Please reread my original post for the answer to your last question. You said "I have vac. to the supply line that runs through the firewall" So I do not understand this last question, good luck, Skipout
November 16, 200322 yr Author turns out it was ngr rgd -- trying to fix the problem How can I tell if the controller is bad? Am I supposed to hear a constant sucking? :cornfuzz: :cornfuzz: What's line 4 for? Where does the supply main line "properly" connect to the engine? How can I tell if the controller is bad? Where can I get a diagram? All lines are numbered on the soft rubber, the controller, and the connectors.
