October 23, 200619 yr I have a 88 GL 5sp, and it gets about 32 mpg. What is the average milage for that year on a auto 2wd.
October 23, 200619 yr The auto's really weren't much better. Probably worse if anything. The 3 speed auto isn't electronic, and has to rev really high to maintain 70 MPH. Plus the tranny is a heavy sucker. GD
October 23, 200619 yr Second GD's comment. I just did the crappy 3 speed A/T to 5 speed manual swap, and MAN, does it make a difference. I would get 19 highway MPG out of my turbo wag if I was lucky, and now I'm getting 24'ish. And the car is lighter and handles better.

October 25, 200619 yr Author 87 2wd 3at GL10, 25mpg city driving. I want a fivespeed. wanna swap? :brow: I have two cars with five speeds I'm about to junk, because the engines are bad. If you want them there in monroe n.c. near charlotte. ones an 85 wagon, the other is a 88 sedan. both are 2wd.
