I went by my former place of employment, TRW Automotive's World Headquarters, in Livonia, MI. It is on a single road that has a 1/2 mile Loop in it, that 2nds as a Test Track. At the far end of the loop is a dirt road that goes about 300 yards back, and then has a hairpin turn, drops about 10 - 15 feet, and comes back out. The last leg is pretty rough. Well, it was raining, and I decided to check this trail out. A friend of mine took me through it in his Jeep Wrangler a few years earlier in the DRY. I pushed the 4WD button, and away we went.

As I got to the hair pin turn I could see tire tracks below, and LOTS of mud, and a pretty deep rut. I figured somebody had been back here recently, so What the Hell? I went around the turn, and into the soft mud, and laid into the throttle! I started drifting to the outside of the turn, which features about a 6 foot drop! I stopped, SLAMMED it into reverse, got the front of the car back on the trail, and slammed it back into first! Started drifting to the outside, but went for it anyways! I rode the ridge, got traction, and pulled out onto the center of the trail. I had pretty good speed up, and had to BANZAI a small tree, maybe 8" diameter, and for the most part, make my own trail out. Once I got back on the pavement I saw a Cherokee & a Liberty sitting there talking. I drove over to them, thinking I might recognize them. (Nope) They looked at my Muddy BanditWagon, and asked if I had just made that run? I said SURE! I'm going around again! The guy in the Cherokee laughed, and told me he had just pulled the guy in the Liberty out, and he almost got stuck in the process. They asked what I was driving. I just shook my head, and drove back around to do it again!

I took the trail about 5 times before it started to get boring. I even tried it in 2WD once, but started to bog down, so I popped it back into 4WD, and pulled out. I'm Hooked!!! I need More Mud!!!
