Efficiency speed

Featured Replies

FWD reduces losses from the driveshaft, tail shaft of the transmission and mass from the rear axle. It reduces unsprung weight (the rear axle). You loose less torque to trying to spin the driveshaft and the rear axles.

Or you can be really genius like Acura and mount the engine (in the Legend) transversly and run the driveshaft through the oil pan. Power loss 20-22% on an automatic. Great engineering there.

at what speed is a subaru 2.5L with an auto most efficient?

my parents Outback got nearly 28mpg averaging 75mph when they came to visit me last year at school.

i can get 26 out of my OBXT if i'm good... ;)

the OBS i could squeeze 29-32 on the highway fully loaded, doing about 65, any more than that and the gas gauge just drops...
