November 12, 200619 yr My '86 GL-10 has a digi dash, so no oil pressure gauge, just an idiot light... I'm wondering if my newer EA82T has an oil pressure sender on it, but I'm not sure exactly where to look. So today's dumb question is, where is the oil pressure sending unit located? November 12, 200619 yr Both idiot light sender and oil pressure sender are screwed into the oil pump. Idiot sender is small, like a water temp sender, and the pressure sender is a larger can (2" in diameter, 2" long?). IIRC, they use different ports in the pump casting.
November 12, 200619 yr There isn't one for the digi-dash cars - you will have to add one. I reccomend just getting an aftermarket mechanical guage - I got one at wall-mart for like $10 and it seems to work great. You will have to buy a longer section of tubing though. GD
November 13, 200619 yr If you need to buy the sender, I recommend the autometer 0-100PSI. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=ATM%2D2242&N=700+115&autoview=sku It works great with the stock oil pressure meter or an autometer gauge.

DW It won't - none of the digi cars have senders. They have the idiot switch that closes at a specified pressure, which IIRC is the "stop at the nearest garage and inquire if they are equipped to shut down the communist gnome weapons factory in your crankshaft" pressure. GD
