Experience with Hazle Auto Parts in Hazleton PA?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Got a hot tip on a used 4EAT in PA for my 96OBW that is drammatically cheaper than everything else in my neighborhood, which, if it pans out, could save me a huge chunk of $. (too good to be true? will ya' look at the teeth on that gift horse?!)

Anyone have any experiences with Hazle Auto Parts in Hazleton, PA (good or bad)?

Check them with the Better Bussiness Bureau, very easy to do on line. I just bought a transmission a few weeks back from Landry's in N.H. I checked them with the Bureau and found them to be good so I ordered.

Hi,

Thanks, wasnt sure that, by shipping stuff out of state might "buffer" them from local BBB feedback, but will certainly give them a ring....

(finger crossed, they gave me a very good price...).

Don't know how they are today, but I grew up near there, and in the 70's they were a good place to go. From Monroe you could drive there in just over 2 hrs...up 17, across 84 and down 81. I used to live in Florida NY in the early 80's so I traveled that way regularly.

Now they also have Harry's U-Pull-It..both in Hazelton, or nearer to me since I now live in NJ, they are also in Allentown. Another good place I've been.

But...used parts ARE just that...Used parts...don't know if they had any strange problems before they ended up in the yard.

I've been there ONCE...although i cant say anything about their parts i prolly wont go back again...the guy at the counter was a complete *********************, so I now stay with harry's u pull it/kress auto wreckers...or i go to another place named BARS, i think there going out of business so you should try calling them, tell them you heard they were selling parts very cheap ; )

Thanks...

The on-line BBB for that area lists them as "acceptable", so will give them a shot.

harry's u pull it is great. i just went there last week when they had the $35 transmission special. there was only 1 OB there at that time tho. there was tons of legacys, imprezas, and loyales tho.

i would suggest Gary's u pull it in Binghampton NY, they had at least 3 post 95 legacies and OBs (same tranny) and i was up there 2 weeks ago. its a straight run up 17, i can make it in about 2hrs flat from walden.

(Walden, your just up the road (Monroe).

Thanks, good to know, will keep them on file... still hoping the tranny I get tomorrow will match my rear differential... may need a rear end fast if it doesnt...
