newsance Posted November 17, 2006 Share Posted November 17, 2006 Ok, so I just bought a 1990 Subaru Legacy AWD. The car runs great, and i got it for a song ($900). It has a couple of issues I am trying to track down. First and foremost, The tach does not work- it just sits at 0. So, in the interests of tracking this down... Where does the tach signal come from? ericem Posted November 17, 2006 Share Posted November 17, 2006 well, it used a speed cable for the tach, not a sensor, so check to see if its connected, also i heard there is a piece that often fails,but i cant remember what the peice was, someone odd to know.
