There's a left and a right Fender on ebay right now ... the ebay listing says it's for a "Loyale" but I thought the Loyales were really "GL"s back in those years (85 86). Do I have that right?

 

Are the body syles compatible? That's the only place I have rust on my Loyale, and it'd be kinda cool to nip it in the bud (assuming the inners are still ok. My '90 is from Texas originally, but Michigan Winters are just killers.

I'd suggest that you post wanted ads here for fenders in whatever color you'd prefer. Someone here will have them and they will cost you a lot less than $75 each shipped. Edrach told me that Subaru fenders can be shipping in a bicycle shipping box, and those are not hard to come by. I've gotten 2 in a box at once, just pad them with cardboard to keep them from scratching up.

I have used fenders from GLs & Loyales, but never kept track of them as different, so I am not 100% sure. Some of the trim pieces might be different, but I think the bolt holes are the same.

They are 100% the same except trim. Keep your existing trim to reinstall on the fender (new fenders won't have the trim anyways). GL, DL, GL-10, Loyale and Turbo Traction 3-door, sedan and wagon fenders and hoods are also all interchangeable, '85-'91 3-doors, '85-93 sedans, '85-'94 wagons. Sedan and wagon doors are interchangeable as well.
