I did a search and found hundreds of engine, suspension, and trany swaps but non specific to me situation (or even close). Lots of ea82 to 81 swaps but not much 81 to 82 swap's. Lots of 4 to 5 speed swaps too.

 

Does an EA81 2WD trany drop in a EA82 2WD? If so what modifications have to be made?

 

What other Tranys would be an easy install (No welding or cutting) to an 1988 EA82 GL wagon 3AT?

The tranny should bolt up, but you'll have to do the reverse driveline adaptation.

EA81 and EA82 2WD trannys are the same.
