Question for spec geeks about rear diffs

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what the normal rear end ratio for a '97 Impreza wagon with manual transmission is? Also, was a VLSD or LSD an option on the '97 model? Thanks to anyone who can point me to the right documentation.
VLSD would not have been an option, but the LSD might have been, I know the JDM WRXs had them. As for the ratio, and this is really going to help, it was either a 3.90 or a 4.11. Now to really muddy the waters, is it a R160 or a R180? Chances are it's a R160, which is different then the ones we ran in the EA series cars. My guess would be that it is a 4.11 R160.
