Knock Module Location

Featured Replies

I am assuming that the knock control sensor module is located somewhere on the firewall. Is this correct? Also, what does it look like?

Thanks in advance,

Stephen

Sensor is on the block, module is under the LF fender-you will know it when you see it.

Depends on the model. The EA82T's are in the very right hand side of the dash. You can access it by removing the glovebox, but to remove it the dash needs to be dettached on that side, pulled out and 2 screws removed on the outside corner.

I know this cause I just removed one. What a PITA:rolleyes:

The KS Module still eludes me, not under the glovebox(just the ac module and the cruise module), not under the left fender-thats where the airsus pump is and nothing under the right fender.:dead:

Gary, you have the 86 FSM, does that give any clues???:-\

No more clues on the location, but, maybe this part# will help you ID it: 22070 AA030 for an 86 XT.

The knock module is only a seperate unit in the early ea82t's. 85-86 in the wagons, sedans, coupe. till mid 87 in the XT. I don't personally know where it is in the XT. In the others it is under the dash, passenger side. You can get at it by removing the glove box if you really try.

Later ea82ts incorperated the knock control into the ECU.
