cargo net attachment 05 LL Bean ?

Featured Replies

Just purchased a cargo net for the 05 LL Bean and unlike most other things purchased the instructions seem poor or they the dealer gave me the wrong net set up.

According to the instruction there should be a pre-located spot to drill holes to screw in two plastic headed bolts to attach the top of the cargo net. The lower section connects to the cargo tie downs on the floor, but...... I can not locate the places to drill for the top screw in bolts.

Any help?

Did I get the wrong net? Has anyone done this for the 05 LL Bean?

Would appreciate wisdom of the board as I am not located close to a dealer.

they should just be... about a foot.. to a foot & a half up, right along the edge there... hard to explain w/o a picture...

I have an 06 3.0R wagon. There were no pre-marked holes. I just drilled them at the height of the net, directly above the hooks that attach the lower portion of the net.

I drilled a small hole, then used the full-size bit so it wouldn't walk.

The fasteners tighten up with a few turns. It takes longer to get the drill and bits together than it does to install it.

Do you just drill holes in the plastic panel? It would not seem strong enough to hold much at all drilled into the plastic panel.

Thanks for the help

You just drill holes in the plastic. It seems pretty robust.

Whatthehell has happened at Subaru? Our 00' has factory installed posts for the cargo net (which came with the car), each in it's little indent in the plastic trim so the 'T' posts won't catch on things.

And our car is a BRIGHTON fer cryinoutloud! And this is an L.L. Bean?

No kidding!!!

Very unlike subaru and especially for an LL Bean at the price they command.

Thanks

It took longer to type these messages than it does to install this product - including drilling the holes.
