I am just trying to fill out the form for my insurance

http://njm.com/pdf/A-735w.pdf

for 2001 LL Bean

I have no details on the system ;(, but my guess would be something like

1 ab(or c?) - that is actually the question

2 a

3-7 no

8 ... not sure - never checked... do we have?

9 no (unless I guess I leave my cell phone in I guess)

If you're really asking for answers:

#1 is ab.

#2-a

#3-#7 NO (like you said)

#8-NO (unless someone had it done aftermarket)

#9-NO (like you said)

Great! So I was right ;-)

although I think according to user manual 2b might be an option - so called "Passive Arming".

Now the question is what the heck is the model of the system we have in 2001 outbacks. I remember from cars101 that it is Alpine but no idea on the model. I am not sure if I want to take the dash out to see what is written on the security module which seems to be located near the radio/tape

any idea on the model?

Grr... just called a dealership where I went for recalls, although guys seems to be nice, the end-point one in parts department blurbed smth that he can't tell anything without seeing the car... although those are damn factory installed ones -- grr.... not sure if there is sense in calling any other one...

does your car have an alarm, is it factory installed, then just check your best guess and send in the paper work. unless you are trying to mislead there will never be a problem. the insurance company just needs the boxes checkerd and the paper filed.

if you have any concerns about repercussions from the insurance company, print off all of these posts and stick them in a file with a copy of your application. they show a genuine effort to give correct information, you have made a much greater effort than most people would.

the chances of your car being stolen are low. the chances that there is a greater loss because you checked the wrong box is lower. the discount you will receive is even less.

just my opinion.

As far as I'm concerned it's a Subaru Factory Alarm!

No model, No other manufacturer information needed.

Who Cares!

A genuine Subaru anti-theft device is good enough for them.

My thoughts.

Glenn,

82 SubaruHummer

84 GL Mad Max

01 Forester--factory alarm--window decals--mfg unknown.

you were 200% right - wasn't worth even trying to do anything -- at the end I got 5$ discount of the year premium... no comments ;)
