Brakes Brakes Brakes

Featured Replies

I have a 97 legacy gt 2.5l and the 16 inch alluminum rims...the hoey comb style......i called napa to get a quote on rotors and pads and they only had 14inch and 15 inch rims in their system.....are the 15 inch rotors the ones you use for the 16 inch rims.....i used to have a van that had the same problem....and the 15inch rotos worked on the 16 inch rims......anyone know what the answer to my question is?

pop off a wheel and measure your rotor, with that number you should be able to figure out what brake bits you have.

you have the 10.7" discs that are on the 2.5RS, 91-94 turbo legacy, and 1st gen foresters. So, for 15" wheels. The brakes that actually require 16" wheels are the 11.3" discs on the later Legacy GTs, outback, and WRX.

11.3' brakes are for new model legacies?.....post 2001?

Only the GT limited sedan in 00-01 had them, and then all GTs after that. The 05+ GT has even bigger 12.3" discs.

This might help (see attached)

Looks like they are all the same for the 2.5's (97's)

I put OE Brembos rotors, Hawk HPS pads and Motul RBF 600 on my '99 LGT. Got all from Tirerack. 10.7" diameter is correct as Jamel says.
