January 5, 200719 yr i bought the wipers that the catalog said i need, it's the entire blade, not just the rubber insert. how do you remove them? doesn't look like they're removable but there is a small plastic tab that looks like it's to be pressed for something. the owners manual is no help at all, just mentions replacing the rubber insert only. wipers are PITA. are all cars like this, or subaru just particularly sucks at windshield wipers?
January 5, 200719 yr You just pull the wiper blades away from the tip of the wiper arm. The little plastic piece is there to unclip it. It may be lodged in there. If you take them to the autoparts store, someone should be able to show you.
January 5, 200719 yr Author thanks josh, worked like a charm. got them right off and the new ones installed. i figured it was way easier than i was making it!

They are all like this. One was so bad I actually got somone to show me what i was doing wrong (i can rebuild a engine but cant replace a damn wiper blade). I got the new wiperblades, the ones that look like they are just one peice from bosch, and shose are so easy to install. For that fact alone i may stick with them. nipper
January 5, 200719 yr Author (i can rebuild a engine but cant replace a damn wiper blade). nice, thanks for being honest, i'll cancel my psych appointment. they are just one peice from bosch, and shose are so easy to install. For that fact alone i may stick with them. that's the ones i had already gotten. once josh chimed in, i got them right off. very easy.
January 5, 200719 yr i figured it was way easier than i was making it! Classic statement! Ain't it the truth . . . I have to put myself through "Windshield Wipers 101" every time I go to change them!
