I bought a new (12k miles) 06 legacy special edition just prior to the new year. I have a couple questions and one small part I am looking for. I had the dealer turn off the beep with the key fob lock/unluck. However, the trunk still beeps, and if I hit the door switch it beeps when it locks. Is there a way to turn off all the beeps?

 

I am missing a small piece of chrome trim on the left driver side vent. Subaru tells me I have to order the entire vent to get the piece of trim!, does anyone have a spare or know of somewhere that sells them? I cant justify buying a $50 vent for a piece of trim.

 

What little easy things can I do to make the car better? Im planning on getting the fog light kit sometime soon, but want to know of other things I can do to the car to further improve it.

Concerning your beebing objection, the first place I would try is the owners manual. Go to your index and research keyless entry operations and setup. I can't make any suggestions about missing bits of chrome and you definitely won't find one in any junkyard anywhere in the country (the newest Subarus are mid '90's).

 

A far as "little easy things" just keep up on your scheduled maintenance (spark plugs, air filter, injector cleaner, fuel filter replacement) and the car will last longer than you might think. This is a car that will still be going long after you've made the last payment.

What do you mean by "improve"? Like make it faster? More off-road capable?

Just minor stuff that the factory perchance didnt do right that I dont know about but others might have learned about with the longer time spent on the newer cars.

according to the back of my clicker, you just hit unlock, and then hold unlock and lock together, for ~2 seconds

and that should turn on/off the beeps.

you might be able to find the trim on the marketplace at legacygt.com, there's always wierd things flying around there.
