Brat Parts question

Featured Replies

before i go tear it completely appart and take pictures of everything and put it in the forsale forum, im wondering if there will be any interest in any parts from my 81 brat. if i could get just a few brief responses with what you might want and what you would pay for it, i'll decide if it'll be worth my time to part it out to someone, or just scrap it....

Well, maybe if you post some pics or at least describe the condition of various parts, that might help.;)

Color?Mileage?Recently replaced parts?Upgrades?

Tough tellin' not knowin'.

I say sell it whole if can, honestly you won't make near as much out of it in parts, I and a few other members have flooded the small market for first gen parts. Plus, who really wants to see another Gen 1 go the way of the dinosaur.

subieguy, i'd still like to sell it to you, i just hate to have you drive so far for a car that needs SO much TLC! If you still want it, come and get it!! It's raining, so i cant even begin to get photo's, plus it completely torn appart into a crazy disaster zone..... But come on up!!

I have got to know where the rust is. That is my only thing. I have so many extra Brat parts I could build probably another whole Brat from them. I just need something that is not all rusty.

i know for sure there is SURFACE rust in the bed. other than that, i'll have to look really closely to see if there is any more anywhere else.....are you concerened about surface rust?

Only rust around the windshield and the rear quarter panels concerns me. Everything else can be easily replaced. Pictures would really help out!

IMHO, the only real place to worry about rust is in the frame itself, especially where the rear suspension mounts up. And if you are a decent fabricator that isn't a really scary place either.
