Climate Control Slider Issue

Featured Replies

hey my climate control temperature slider, as stated above, is sticking,

it feels like if I tug on it that it will break something on the inside,

I already know that Im taking it apart to fix this but, I would like some info on things to be weary about when dissasembling this piece and how to do it.

Welcome to the club!

I took, to never turning my control all the way over to hot,

as it would stick and feel like it was going to break something...

that worked fine and I never did fix the internal problem.:burnout:

It is a Steel Wire, Covered; just like the Bicicles got to its Brake Wires; and it go to the Heather´s Door.

You can take it and Lube it with Anti Rust Oil, or Somethin´ like That.

Good Luck! :)

It isnt fun, but you have to remove the gauge pod shroud to access all that.. NOT my favorite area of the car to work in.

My dad's wagon was doing the same thing for a long time. Went thru a winter with no heat.

A white plastic gear down by the gas pedal got off track. Just had to remove the lower dash cover and sqeeze in there with a flashlight.

ok I think I see how to do it, are there any little parts to watch out for, I loose anything thats small!

hmm... assuming the cable itself isn't frozen in it's sleeve, and everything on the flapper side is still fine, it may be that the cable right at the slider has a kink in it, and doesn't want to go down it's sleave. Once you get to where you can see the side of the temp controls, you'll see a pinch joint that grabs the sleave. You may just have to loosen that and pull the sleave farther up.

Won't know until you dig into it though :-\
