1984 ea71 is dying, need help 1984

Featured Replies

my EA71 is about to bite the dust if I go with the EA81 from CCR will all the old intakes bolt up to it? I was told the trany will bolt up but they were not sure about the intake and exhaust. If not I guess I will buy anaother EA71 from them.

If this is in your 84, then this technically belongs in the Old-Gen forum. It may have an EA71, but it's a Gen2 EA71, and has a fair number of differences from the Gen1 EA71.

I would think the EA81 stuff would bolt up, I can't be sure though. Just look at the ports in the heads on the intake and exhaust.

yes it is in my 84 DL, in fact I posted it in the old-gen forum to begin with but it was moved here the next day. I hoped somebody in the old forum would have saw this and answered it before it moved though.

i know for sure that the exhaust from your ea71 will not bolt up to an ea81.

i would say the same for the intake manefold, but i don't have first hand experience to say 100%.

If your ea71 stuff won't interchange hit me up, I've got my 86 ea81 layin in the basement and wouldn't car to part it out, i've got everything you'd end up needing if its not the same. Y-pipe, im, disty, you name it its here somewhere.
