May 2, 200718 yr I checked the fault codes and found a code 35, purge control solenoid valve is continuously in on or off position. Where is the purge control solenoid valve? Is this owner replaceable or fixable? Could it just be stuck? Would a good cleaning possibly fix it? My Chiltons manual doesn't mention it that I can find. Any help would be appreciated. Mike
May 2, 200718 yr I can't help you directly, but try looking at the 'similar threads' below and this one http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66619&highlight=purge
May 2, 200718 yr Most likely the coil is open. All of my oem units have failed that way, except maybe one. My solution: http://home.comcast.net/~davidtief/solenoid.html The EGR and the purge are the same unit with different electrical connectors.
May 2, 200718 yr Isuzu troopers and rodeos have similar solenoids. Ton's of options in other cars too. But the Isuzu ones are a good quality
May 2, 200718 yr Author Anyone know part numbers for solenoids, OEM or IZUZU. I think I'll try a new one. Thank you, Mike
May 3, 200718 yr Anyone know part numbers for solenoids, OEM or IZUZU. I think I'll try a new one. Thank you, Mike Sorry, I don't know any part numbers. But the one time I inquired the Subaru dealer wanted around $90 for a new OEM one. I think that's why most people look for them in junkyards, or go without them, or find cheaper ones for other cars.
May 3, 200718 yr I've seen so many different cars with the same device its just not funny. Only thing you have to look out for is if it has the same plug. Go to your junkyard and check some cars out. I'm sure you'll only have to pay a couple of bucks compared to new which is stupidly priced..
