I found a (don't yell at me) 95 Camry to quickly replace it so my daughter has a vehicle untill i can find another suitable Subaru. The owner is a friend of a friend of a friend offering it to me at a good price for a what I'm considering a temporary replacement.

Car Fax says its clean, last reported mileage was in '05 at 128,756mi.

There is a 5EAT, but it's not original to a '97.

Yes the 5EAT's are available in newer Subaru's. Those are the ones that require the special Subaru/Idemitsu HP ATF. They might be made by http://www.jatco.co.jp but not really sure.

i assumed it was a typo. it's either a 5 speed manual or an 4eat.

 

i cant imagine your run-of-the mill subaru owner going to all that trouble. maybe a sooby fanatic, but what do i know.
