94 Legacy Non Turbo Oil Pump Info Please!

Featured Replies

Is this pump the same as the EA82? The gaskets sound similar from what my friend describes. His (brother-in-law's) 94 non turbo legacy was leaking oil, he removed the pump, but needs new gaskets now. Where can I get them? Thanks! I am used to the older stuff mostly!

No it is not the same as your ea82. Buy an oem subaru gasket. I think anything less would be asking for trouble.

I'm assuming that's a 2.2L? Is there a gasket on that oil pump? There is the pump discharge to block o-ring, but the pump itself is just sealed to the block with RTV such as permatex ulta-grey I believe? Also if the pump was removed might as well replace the crank seal. And make sure the screws aren't backing out of the rear case cover over the gears. Does the pump look like this?

It should look just like the pictures, except not that clean:grin: .

The o-ring is all that you need, plus a clean mating surface on the block and pump and some good rtv, and a through tightening of those screws. I used the Permatex like mentioned above when I resealed a MY92 ej22 a few years back before putting it in my 95 brighton. And I'd agree, since its off get the new front seal. PN 806733030 from Subaru. It costs about $9 from the dealer(can't find my invoice so I'm not 100% on that price) And is just good preventative maintainence.
