December 12, 200322 yr i was wondering who out there has replaceable bulbs for there subes cause sealed beams are worthless. what sites have 80-84 replaceable bulb headlights
December 12, 200322 yr Any VW performance shop can point you to those - expect to pay some serious $$ for them. When I looked, just the enclosures were about $54 each. Of course you need four of those. Check into the new sealed beams - there are quite a few out that are just as bright. They have the ultra white ones and everything - cheaper than going HID. GD
December 12, 200322 yr just let me say.... Skid plate over the oil pan, + Ultra White foul weather lights = Lighting problem solved.. I installed these lights in 5 minutes (I swear to god) Not drilling involved.. Pull the two front bolts to the skid plate, put the foul weather light brackets on there, and tighten the bolts up, run the wires.. DONE
December 12, 200322 yr oh wow, GD is going with the ultra whites.. Read the post about poor headlights and GD totally disses the white lights........ Gee, lemme think.... White/blue is better then white
December 12, 200322 yr i just replaced all 4 in my hatch, bought some sylvania halogens.. adjusted at night.. and i must say, they are brighter than ****. people flash me with just the dims on, then i bright'em and they back off... ohh yeah they cost me about $50 for all 4
December 12, 200322 yr Didn't say I was going with them.... said they were cheaper. I personally have plenty of light from my stock quad sealed beams (yep - yellow and all....) - on both my wagon and my Brat. I don't know why anyone would need to upgrade them unless you were driving where there's lots of animals, or you have bad eyesight....... or there's something wrong with your wireing. GD
December 13, 200322 yr I found that if you head on down to the local JY and look for an early 90'S BMW with the composite round lights they will bolt into your stock head-lamp location on a gen-1. (havent done this yet but they are the same dimentions and they do have the replacable insert bulb.)
December 15, 200322 yr sorry i was thinking more along the lines of a first gen brat, but i have a friend that just bought some of those projection heaslights for his 82 honda prelude which might fit if you have single headlamps, I will try to get the box from hime this weekend.
