November 11, 200718 yr Dealer gave me PFR6B-11 NGK, MY BOOK CALLS FOR PFR5B-11? Has there been a change to use this colder plug? Or did the Dealer mess up? 98 Outback 2.5, just rebuilt last night with Brand New Short Block.

Or did the Dealer mess up? 98 Outback 2.5, just rebuilt last night with Brand New Short Block. I'd call the dealer back and ask. NGK's website also says to use the "5" heat range.
November 13, 200718 yr From what my limited memory remembers, I think it's better to go with a HOTTER plug, just one step up though. Something about running rich and all that fun. Check sl-i.net for more.
November 13, 200718 yr Where is the new block from? I would go with what they say in order to maintain your warranty,if no warranty is lingering go with the next heat range up,you'll love it
