temp spare rims offroad?

Featured Replies

has anyone ever tryed to use the temp spare 15x5 inch rims to mount some narrow 15 inch tires, i think im crazy for the sugestion. im looking for some tires to fit. out in michigan i use the narrow ist tires for my snow plow truck. they seem to bite down to the road instead of float on top of the snow. hmmmmm

Oh crap its almost impossiable to find an 80 series tire with any kind of tread, arrrgggg hopless

For off road it should work, maybe. From a purely technical point of view, yes. It will make for lousy, if not almost dangerous on road handling. I have had the joy (or bad luck) of driving a car with 4 temp spares on it (wasnt mine, was helping a friend) and it had some really scarry handling.

Narrow tires affect handling and cross wind performance.

I am assuming you mean as a off road snow tire, and not a mud tire.

its been discussed before. I think the verdict was the rims were not designed to handle everyday use. Likely will bend or break and be unsafe. Especially with meatier tires on them. Get pugs of redrill 6 lugs.

i used a set, with 215 70 15 bfgs, on and off road, for over 60 k miles

no problems.

i would suggest you find pugs, but to answer your question, yes, it can be done
