November 28, 200718 yr Just to make sure I don't miss anything, the only component out of a 3.7 LSD needed to convert an open 3.9 diff is the LSD Carrier, right? Also, is it always necessary to grind out the 3.9 housing to fit? Thanks, - Noah
November 28, 200718 yr yes and no. YES All you need out of the LSD is the chunk... the carrier. No it is not always necessary to grind... but it helps....

There's pics somewhere of where you have to grind. Basically the bottom left side if looking at the back. Can I remove my rear differential w/out removing both axles? Nope, the axles have to come off. You have to pull the stub axles to get the innards out.
