Just want to confirm something.....someone told me that the 2.2's didnt have the headgasket failures like the 2.5's.....is this true?

They do not have the high failure rates that the 2.5s do. I still see a post about the occasional head gasket failure but that can happen to any car.

No the 2.2 does not have the head gasket failure problem that the 2.5 has.

2.2L is very solid. Let's just say most of the posts about Subaru HG failures are not about the 2.2L. Granted, any engine with enough mileage or poor maintenance can have HG issues.
