December 7, 200718 yr I own a 98 subaru outback. The head gaskets went so me and my buddy pulled the motor and replaced them and dropped it back in. Car starts fine but has small misfire. Im not worried bout the misfire what im worried bout is that when the car is in park and neutral she revs fine. When shes in R,D,3,2,1 with the pedal pushed down to the floor she crawls literally, until she hits 3500 rpm then she has all the power throughout the rest of the powerband, then when she shifts and drops under 3500 rpm she does the same thing.
December 7, 200718 yr I have seen this lotsa times (in other vehicles) due to a bad/loose plug wire, or a cracked plug, etc. Dave
December 8, 200718 yr Hi, sorry about that; I think I misread for my first post. How about timing, are you sure that's dead on? One tooth off and it'll have power loss...more than that it probably won't even start. It must be perfect. Also knock sensor can cause some power issues.
December 12, 200718 yr Author the timing was off by a tooth ********************* friend dont kno khow to do a timing belt. Thanx for all the help greatly appreciated
