well i believe in sealing the disty, i still got water in with the stock splash shield. but the only other thing i can think of was the plastic shield --cut up radiator bottle-- i have over my weber to make it suck air from the back of the engine. the only thing i remember with the stock ea81's is the intake portion of the air box, i cut up an oil bottle and fabbed it to suck air from the back and protect from splash. but as eric said you could use a rag.

who's the goof in the driver's seat? i would, but i get nervous enough driving your rig eric. i don't have the money to fix mine, won't have money to fix someone else's. too much debt looming to get further in debt.

I was up there on Sunday and it was great!! A little bit of snow down below in the 1st parking lot. But once you worked your way up the snow got really deep and fun!!! We made it out to the wall but the trail was super slimmy and deep and wet. Definetly need lockers, front and rear and atleast 35" good tires to get out to it. I watched a few guys struggling to just get turned around half way there. My budy in his half stock jeep thought he could do it and ended up winching his way out!

I will be up there with the W.H.O.R.E.S. on Saterday!!! The more the better!! beer.gifbeer.gif

sounds like it'll be nice and snowy, here's your update, for the wall, ken.

i wasn't doubting you eric, i was just posting the latest report from the other site. ken had mentioned the wall trail, which is where these guys went, i'll post the pic of the stuck toyota for you.

friday, my step dad and i are swapping my tires for the subie, step one!... now i'll have the tires done, minus balancing, but my tax return is pending direct deposit early next week.

hmm... were did the tires go... 36's or 38's

hopefully in a few weeks i'll be able to make a run... yes, i'm full of excuses since i got out. college ain't cheap and i have no money.

Ken's got 35s and a welded rear diff. He has yet to make it up or over or thru something that I couldn't follow him with my open diff'd 33s.

The opposite is not true. :-p

And thanks to that Rubicon I got the broken taillight to prove it!

If that Toyota got buried to the frame I doubt too many 'roo's will be going to the wall.

well it should be a fun trip. the passes have been being dumped on! up to 3 feet of fresh snow in the forecast between now and friday, not to mention the 3 feet of fresh since sunday already... who knows how much fell at reiter, the snow level hasn't gone above 1000 feet that i've seen so far and i religiously watch the pass reports. as long as there are tracks, and they air down, they should be able to make the road to the wall trail. i read a few more posts that people are making it out there. just stay off the tree trails alongside the main path...

I am 99.8% ready. All the more I have to do is get the extra axles and my spare tires on board, But otherwise I'm good to go. Today I took a big step, My buddy Will and I finally made a skid plate for my brat. For those of you who have wheeled with me before you may remember I never had a skid plate. The first few times I ever went out I torn the exust bolts all the way out to the point where the Y pipe was just hanging. After I rebuilt the motor I put 9/16 or 1/2" Studs in and never had a problem but I was always worried about messing them up. No more worries about it now. I also took care of my tranny mounts and the bolt I broke a while back with Scott. It looks Like we'll have two other toyota's coming down too. So over all that'll be 5 of us Just in My crew comming down. I'm starting to loose sleep already.

So does anyone know if there is like 25 feet of snow up there or is it pretty clear of snow?

True, Just for record that was right next to the road at baker lake. There was a lot of compact snow there, and I wanted to broad slide through the corner, as you can see that didn't work out. Brian did this trying to pull me out.
